Helen C. (Nelly) Leligou is currently associate professor at University of West Attica which emerged from Piraeus University of Applied Sciences. From 2007-2017, she was member of the teaching personnel (assistant professor) at University of Applied Sciences of Central Greece. Her research interests lie mainly in the areas of Information and Communication Technologies including a) routing protocols and trust management in Wireless Sensor Networks, b) control plane technologies in broadband networks including HFC, PON, WDM metro and core networks and c) industrial, embedded and network system design and development, d) block-chain technologies, e) IoT enabled systems for various application sectors including e-learning, energy efficiency and agri-food supply chain and f) artificial intelligence applications in the maritime sector. Her research results have been published in more than 150 scientific journals and conferences. She has participated in several EU-funded ACTS, IST, ICT and H2020 research projects in the above areas and she has acted as proposals evaluator for EU or other European Organisations.
